List of HVAC and R Instruments and Its Use in Industries

In homes, businesses and other buildings, HVAC-R technicians oversee systems that control humidity, temperature and air quality. Thereby, the following understated equipment comprises the major and primary equipment of the mechanism.

Transmitters

Mechanically, pressure transmitters or simply transmitters measure the expansive force of any liquid or gas sample. The pressure transducer sensor, sometimes called an Analyte sensor or pressure transducer, is usually composed of a pressure sensitive area made of steel, silicon, or another material depending on the Analyte type. Generally, temperature, humidity and pressure sensors find the most common usage for building sensors for HVAC and building applications. It has a vast usage in many other industries like telecommunication, electrical applications like AC, Refrigerator and others. Temperature sensors can even register and monitor the ambient condition as well as liquid and gaseous states. They are extensively used in heating and cooling the environment.

Data Logger

An electronic device that records data over time or with reference to a location is called a data logger. Data logging devices may have built-in instruments and sensors or may use external devices and sensors. These days automation has found its foot increasingly, though not entirely on a digital processor, known as the digital data loggers. These loggers are electronic in nature and automatically records time and environmental data parameters over time, allowing the measurement, analysis and validation of several conditions. The data logger consists of a sensor that captures data and a chip that stores it. These mechanisms are extensively used in geotechnical monitoring and instrumentation on a large scale owing to its automation in terms of real-time data collection that can work unattended.

Combustion Instruments

During the combustion process, the combustion analyzer instrument measures the gases to ensure maximum efficiency and safety during the industrial process. Generally, fossil fuels are used as a combustive element that reacts with oxygen to produce heat. Those appliances that use the combustive equipment for burning fuel include heaters, ovens, furnaces, fireplaces, dryers, burners, stokers, stoves and many more. Combustion Instruments are used for solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and thus are extensively used in industries like steam production and metallurgy.

Manometers

A manometer is a ‘U’ shaped both ended open device that measures the air and fluid pressure. When the air pressure is lower than the gas pressure, the fluid will be higher on the open side, and when the air pressure exceeds the gas pressure, it will be lower. A mercury or an oil manometer measures gas pressure as the height of the fluid column of the oil gets sample support. Manometers find a variety of usage in many industries like HVAC, meteorological and weather condition monitoring. Generally, in the HVAC industry, this instrument finds its usage while inching water columns in the apparatus while measuring static or gas pressure.

Digital Refrigerant Gauges

Digital Refrigerant Gauges are specific instruments that are extremely mandatory to sense pressure from a liquid or gaseous compound providing a direct reading of the pressure value on a digital display screen. One can use a DR Gauges without an operator as the value can be read on the digital display screen as like the analog pressure gauges.

In manufacturing and engineering, a gauge refers to a device to determine, either directly or indirectly, if a dimension is larger or smaller than another dimension that is being used as a reference.

Gauges that use digital technology are accurate and consistent. They are usually powered by battery, loop, or solar power; characters that make it edgier than their analog counterparts.
